Dr Linda reveals the earliest evidence of women magic-workers from archaeology, art history, ecclesiastical records, religious laws against witchcraft and priests’ handbooks. The untold story of Anglo- Saxon English women’s magic is a rich history which Linda will tell through case studies of records of how witches were actually treated, sifting the fake news from the folklore (shape-shifting witches!), the myth from the reality.
